Its international missions
The French Gas Association (AFG) represents the entire French gas profession within the Union. Through its membership, AFG has the opportunity to promote and support the development of the French industry on international markets. The recognition of the high quality of the French gas industry has moreover led the IGU to entrust AFG with its representation in a number of events around the world. More generally, AFG is present in all events and commercial development actions in order to promote and informs its members. Its partners
 EASEE-gas was set up in 2002 to develop and promote the simplification and streamlining of both the physical transfer and the trading of gas across Europe. The creation of EASEE-gas is a project that is fully supported by the European Commission and by the European Regulators through the so-called Madrid Forum. EASEE-gas, through its Working Groups, provides a structured platform where industry participants can discuss the harmonisation and simplification of business processes by developing Common Business Practices (CBP's). Participation in the Working Groups is limited to members only and each Working Group finances its own activities. The Working Groups are supervised by an Executive Committee made up of up to three representatives from each Segment. Associate membership in EASEE-gas is open to government agencies, regulators, trade associations, consumer groups and to individuals that may contribute to the benefit of EASEE-gas. It has currently 81 full members and 27 associate members.
 Eurogas is a non-profit international association based in Brussels. It promotes gas industry co-operation and represents the European natural gas industry towards the European Union, all other relevant bodies at international level, and last but not least to public opinion. It has currently 49 members from 27 countries.
 It is the representative body of the European Natural Gas Industry on all technical issues. It aims to monitor and take influence when needed on European technical regulation, standardisation and certification with respect to integrity and safety of pipeline systems, equipment, and the rational use of energy. Its 18 member countries are represented by their national gas organisations.
 The International Gas Union (IGU) was founded in 1931. It is a worldwide non-profit organisation registered in Vevey, Switzerland with the Secretariat located in Oslo, Norway. The objective of IGU is to promote the technical and economic progress of the gas industry. The members of IGU are associations and entities of the gas industries in 73 countries. It co-operates with many global energy organisations. IGU's working organisation covers all fields of the gas industry from exploration and production of natural gas on- or offshore, pipeline and piped distribution systems to customers' premises and combustion of the gas at the point of use. It organizes the World Gas Conference to every 3 years. The next one will take place 4-8 June 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
