The Gas Conference and Expogaz was held on September 13-15 2005 in Paris, at the Convention Center (Porte Maillot).
Chairman's message
The gas conference, which is held every two years, punctuates the activity of the gas industry in France. It provides an opportunity for the whole gas staff to take stock of the situation, and to meet hundreds of other participants from different horizons in France and elsewhere. As chairman of AFG, I am proud and pleased to present this event which, I am convinced, will again bring great satisfaction to all of us.
The three-day formula, adopted in 2003, has proved a great success and has therefore been chosen once again this year.
Tuesday 13 September will be devoted to infrastructure activities as well as organisation issues within the gas sector.
Wednesday 14 September will look at the situation as regards the opening-up of the gas market both in France and in Europe, through panel discussions with senior representatives of industry and customers, as well as policymakers, from both France and other European countries. The session will be opened by the President of the Energy Regulatory Commission, Mr Jean Syrota, and closed by the Delegate Minister of Industry, Mr François Loos.
Thursday 15 September will focus on environmental aspects and sustainable development.
As usual, the gas exhibition Expogaz will be held at the same time to display the most innovative gas technologies and equipment to a wider audience. The major European companies will be exhibiting and, for the first time, the main gas users will be present too.
I look forward to seeing you on 13 September morning to kick-off this three-day event, which is already promising to be very stimulating.
